.700 Swinburn Double barrel Carbine marked to the Scinde Irregular Horse
2 batches of these carbines were produced, the early batch around 1853/54 for the 1st and 2nd regiment Scinde irregular horse. In 1858 and 1860 another 2 regiments were formed, the 3rd and 4th SIH.
This carbine is dated 1853, so would have been used throughout the Indian Mutiny
In excellent overall condition with very good actions
These are not an easy find and are generally in poor condition, so a rare find!
Marked to SIH on top of buttplate and Swinburn & Son to the locks (writing worn) as well as date of 1853
Original swivel ramrod and lanyard ring still present
No license required as antique/ curio
