The bar on band rifles are a lot harder to find and this one is in excellent condition

Smith was one of the better makers and suppliers to the war department! This one being a commercial or volunteer probably bought for military match shooting in the period
Rear sight is original with a modern made V, but to an original design. We love the addition, but it would be very easy to replace it with another if preferred!
It would be extremely hard to improve on the condition of this example and amazing it has survived like it has.
